ALEX SUH
Alex Suh is a founding Managing Director with California Technology Ventures, LLC, a Southern California venture capital firm that focuses its investments in the fields of Life Sciences and Information Technology. Alex is the managing director that invests in Life Sciences as well as Information Technology.

Alex is also a founding Managing Director with J.J. Jacobs Enterprises, LLC and Jacobs Capital Group, LLC, both Pasadena-based venture capital and fund-of-fund firms where he has invested in other venture capital funds globally that offer a strategic fit with California Technology Ventures.

Alex was an entrepreneur, starting several businesses. He helped develop the first small business incubator in the San Gabriel Valley, managed several small business lending programs, consulted with nonprofits and cities on economic development projects and taught college courses in entrepreneurship, business and management.

Alex participates or has participated on the advisory board for EmTek, a San Diego based community small business lending and equity program; LARTA, a technology think tank; Claremont Graduate University’s Venture Financial Institute; the Life Science Steering committee for State of California Governor’s Policy Office; City of Hope’s International Translational & Regenerative Medicine Center (ITRC); SoCalBio (SCBC) and as an Advisory Council member for Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences. He is a member of the board of trustees at Keck Graduate Institute.

His community involvement includes: past chairman to Villa Esperanza, a school for developmentally challenged persons; distinguished president for Kiwanis; advisory board member for Women at Work, and for the Crippled Children’s Society; Special Olympics coach, an Advisor to Water Women, Inc., an NGO to educate and empower girls, ages eight to eighteen to become water stewards and ocean advocates, and others. Alex was honored in 2009 for the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business.

WILLIAM HANNA
William A. Hanna is a Managing Director with California Technology Ventures, LLC and Jacobs Capital Group, LLC. He brings extensive experience and expertise in the financial and investment industries to the team.

Mr. Hanna was the Founding President and Director of Cedars Bank. Under his tenure, the Bank grew from $6 million of assets to over $500 million and achieved consistent profitability in each year. The bank was sold in 2006 for an excess of $125 million, which was 25 times earnings and 3 times book value. This resulted in a return of over 21 times to the original investors.

Prior to founding Cedars Bank, he was Senior Vice President, Credit of Bank Audi USA where he had been hired by the Audi Group of Banks to open the bank in California.

He served as Vice President of the Corporate Finance Department at Smith Barney & Co. and as Director of Smith Barney International. In these positions, Mr. Hanna was involved in all facets of investment banking, including stock and bond issues, initial public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital. He also worked internationally for Smith Barney in Paris, Tokyo, and Beirut, Lebanon.

Mr. Hanna is active in a number of industry and civic organizations which include the Southern California Business Development Corporation; the Los Angeles Community Financial Resource Center; the American Arab Educational Foundation; the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce; the United Way, Inc.; the Episcopal Diocese Federal Credit Union; Boy Scouts of America; the American Youth Soccer Organization (A.Y.S.O.); Member of the Governing Board of St. Luke Medical Center; and is a Member of The Corporation Council of CEOs. Mr. Hanna was formerly on the board of Operation Hope, where he served on the National Board as its Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Mr. Hanna was also the recipient of the 2007 Ellis Island Medal of Honor, recognizing his business success and extensive community service.

William Hanna was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University and received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.

ANDREA DEVITA
Andrea DeVita is Director of Finance at California Technology Ventures, LLC and Jacobs Capital Group, LLC. She is responsible for all financial and operational activities, as well as assisting with business plan sourcing, due diligence, special projects, and assisting portfolio companies.

As an entrepreneur with more than seventeen years experience, Andrea’s firm performed financial accounting, tax preparation, general management, and project administration. Andrea has extensive experience with human resources and labor related issues. She has worked closely with financial institutions and SBA lenders to assist a number of companies obtain financing for capital expenditures and working capital.

Prior to joining the California Technology Ventures, Andrea’s firm was responsible for the oversight of accounting functions for clients in several market areas, including manufacturing, commercial, retail, consulting, construction, medical, and venture capital. Andrea was previously a Controller for Main Line Equipment, an electronics manufacturer and CTL Environmental Services, an environmental consulting firm.
