WILLIAM HANNA

Managing Director, Founder

William A. Hanna is a Managing Director with California Technology Ventures, LLC and Jacobs Capital Group, LLC. He brings extensive experience and expertise in the financial and investment industries to the team.

Mr. Hanna was the Founding President and Director of Cedars Bank. Under his tenure, the Bank grew from $6 million of assets to over $500 million and achieved consistent profitability in each year. The bank was sold in 2006 for an excess of $125 million, which was 25 times earnings and 3 times book value. This resulted in a return of over 21 times to the original investors.

Prior to founding Cedars Bank, he was Senior Vice President, Credit of Bank Audi USA where he had been hired by the Audi Group of Banks to open the bank in California.

He served as Vice President of the Corporate Finance Department at Smith Barney & Co. and as Director of Smith Barney International. In these positions, Mr. Hanna was involved in all facets of investment banking, including stock and bond issues, initial public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital. He also worked internationally for Smith Barney in Paris, Tokyo, and Beirut, Lebanon.

Mr. Hanna is active in a number of industry and civic organizations which include the Southern California Business Development Corporation; the Los Angeles Community Financial Resource Center; the American Arab Educational Foundation; the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce; the United Way, Inc.; the Episcopal Diocese Federal Credit Union; Boy Scouts of America; the American Youth Soccer Organization (A.Y.S.O.); Member of the Governing Board of St. Luke Medical Center; and is a Member of The Corporation Council of CEOs. Mr. Hanna was formerly on the board of Operation Hope, where he served on the National Board as its Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Mr. Hanna was also the recipient of the 2007 Ellis Island Medal of Honor, recognizing his business success and extensive community service.

William Hanna was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University and received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
